Robotically fabricated CFRP fair stand at Hannover Fair

The University of Stuttgart´s fair stand was designed and fabricated by the Institute for Computational Design (ICD) and the Institute for Building Structures and Structural Design (ITKE). It features a carbon fiber reinforced lightweight structure which was developed using computational design and simulation tools and fabricated by a novel robotic core less filament winding technique for fiber composite parts. The structure does not only highlight the potential of the developed processes for material efficient construction but showcases how these can be used to explore a novel design repertoire for architecture.
